This past Grammy weekend, IAMSOUND & Pitchfork teamed up to throw one of the favorite parties we’ve ever thrown. Held at The Overpass, we had a headlining set from iLoveMakonnen and support from LA DJs Morse Code and Aaron Castle. Check out some photos below by David Morrison.

Io Echo have stayed busy over the past year since the release of their highly praised debut album Ministry of Love. As well as Ross’contribution to the original score for the upcoming Brian Wilson biopic and a Michael Mann film due for release in 2015, the band also composed a futuristic 12 minute interpretation of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence” for the Louis Vuitton S/S 15 Paris show. Currently they are in the studio working on their 2015 sophomore album. In anticipation, the band today release their new I’VE BEEN VAPING YOUR TEARS mix tape as a free download.

The 4-song mix serves as the perfect next chapter for the band, building on the clarity of their sound and goth inspired vocals, enhanced by dark electronic and R&B production. Notably the Tokimonsta-collaboration cover of Mariah Carey’s #1 hit “Heartbreaker” is a truly sublime interpretation of the R&B pop gem as a haunting ballad that bridges Ioanna’s ethereal vocals over an ominous and forboding beat that embodies the band’s unique sound. Most recently, the band have been collaborating in the studio with Doc McKinney, who produced the Weeknd’s House of Balloons, as well as Hugo Nicolson (Radiohead In Rainbows)

His debut EP Heaven will be released November 18th via IAMSOUND and, besides “Lucifer’s Eyes,” includes the track “In Low Light” which features guest vocals from Ioanna Gika of Io Echo.

“Self Control,” the latest single from the Stockholm-based trio, recently premiered at Pitchfork (http://bit.ly/1tWmvnh) and will be released on iTunes August 19. The track serves as a preview to their highly anticipated, self-produced debut LP. Kate Boy spoke to SPIN in February and said, “…now we know what we want to do.
